F.L.I.P.Family Literacy In the Park, FLIP, is a unique new program sponsored by the Friends of the Library designed to encourage a lifelong love of reading for children and their families. Fun stories and activities will be provided for children aged 4 - 10 with their parent or caregiver. No registration is required. Plan to join us at Suggs Park Wednesday afternoons in April and May from 4:30 - 5:30. FLIP will be held from 10:00-11:00 Wednesday mornings during June and July. The park is located near the Collierville town square on South Street, just east of Main Street. Severe weather cancels. Provision should be made by parents for supervision of their children. We've all heard that reading is an important key to success for our children. It's also a great way for families to spend time together. Bring your family and join in the fun. From April through July over 150 children listened to 40 stories. The Collierville Literacy Council and the Friends donated books for participants to keep. Eighty books were given away. FLIP will resume in April 2008. |
